Risotto Luganega (Villano) vs Saffron and Marrow (Courtier)

Miart, Fiera Milano and Ambassadors of Taste

On the occasion of the 28th edition of Miart, the collaboration between Fiera Milano and Ambasciatori del Gusto is strengthened, in this combination of visual art and gastronomic art.

Chefs Butticè, Salvatore and Vincenzo, of Il Moro restaurant in Monza and ambassadors of taste have joined this initiative with enthusiasm and originality again this year.

Gastronomic art and pictorial art

They chose the work Pacific Ocean at Malibu, 1976 by Hockney, an English painter, photographer, engraver, set designer.

Why did you choose David Hockney?

Because the artist represents, almost constantly, the dual relationship between social, ethical and sentimental relationships. Love and hate are two interconnected aspects of feeling, there is no dividing fence, but it is a continuous and fluid relationship.

The freedom of movement of things, people and emotions are interdependent aspects and interacting parts for a complete vision accessible to all.

There, representations must always depict the real world, the world nearby, the world around us.

The artist’s central themes stimulate, in the IButticè Taste Ambassadors, pragmatism and realism of current gastronomy. In some ways still imprisoned by a global vision as opposed to the local vision, novelty against tradition, past VS present, nourishment vs enjoyment, wealth vs poverty.

In translating the concept of interconnection and fluidity, in the gastronomic social sense, Salvatore and Vincenzo Butticè have taken the theme of rude cuisine vs courtly cuisine and have merged and grafted them into a single dish, making the two cuisines (rude and courtesan), the two Lombard traditions, dialogue.

While in the translation of the concept of realism and the world around us, they have chosen the city of Milan and the province of Monza and Brianza.
