Monza Il Moro Flavio restaurant and inclusivity

Il Moro and its ethical-solidarity declinations

The Il Moro Restaurant, opened in 1996 and taken over by IButtice in 2007, immediately with the management of the three brothers it has shown strong inclinations towards the territory and the maxim of the Butticè family has always been “We work with and for the territory”.

The aspects of inclusiveness were immediately put in place with the inclusivity project of a former student with Down syndrome, by Prof. Vincenzo Butticè, professor of food and wine at the Institute for Food and Wine Services and State Hospitality “Adriano Olivetti” in Monza.

This inclusion project, in collaboration with the School, the Municipality and the Family, lasted 3 years.

Let’s include Flavio

Flavio, 19 years old, has been a student of Vincenzo Butticè for two years now, and Flavio has always shown during lessons and practical exercises a great desire to go further, a great respect for the rules, and infinite resourcefulness.

Vincenzo talked about it with Manuela, Flavio’s mother, “what do you think if we did Flavio’s internship at Il Moro”?

Manuela, a colleague from the School, replied: “you are the teacher so you decide what is the best scholastic of Flavio”

After the briefing made with the staff and especially with Lara and Roberto, we placed Flavio in the kitchen of Il Moro and exactly in the pastry shop since this is his school profile.

Hence a great story of inclusivity in Monza Il Moro Restaurant

From the kitchen of Il Moro Ristorante, how Flavio’s inclusion process proceeds

The words of Vincenzo Butticè:

“Flavio has taught me, in these two years, to never set limits, to always find a solution to believe in it to the end.

The commitment he puts into whatever he does is infinite, he falls back and gets up, he doesn’t look for excuses and goes beyond.

He gives more than he can and always raises the bar, he is an example of the group of perseverance, method and punctuality.

He shows an initiative to be taken as a model.

In every working group I would see a Flavio.”

The words of Salvatore Butticè:

“He brings positive energy and joy, he is always available and always looks for the best solution to solve a problem”

The words of Lara Mariani:

“Enterprising, energetic, eager to do and when something doesn’t come out as he would like to start over”

The words of Roberto Suevo :

“a great appetite for content and food, always smiling and doing his best when he has to carry out a task”

The Mother’s letter published by Barbara Apicella and the great meeting with Edoardo Raspelli

One morning a link arrives with an article by Barbara Apicella “She doesn’t realize…” We were moved.

A few days later, the phone rings: “Good morning Vincenzo Butticè, I’m Edoardo Raspelli, can you tell me about Flavio’s inclusion project?”

Certainly Dr. Raspelli …..
